IAHA Home


The Idaho Amateur Hockey Association was created about 1969.

 The IAHA is affiliated with USA Hockey within the Rocky Mountain District and is the governing authority for all amateur hockey in the state of Idaho.


Coaching Education

COACHING EDUCATION  

Earn your USA Hockey Level 1, 2, or 3 certification and while you hear from a dynamic group of professional coaches from across the country.

TOBY O'BRIEN 23 years of pro hockey experience ranging from Head Coach to General Manger, Development Coach to NHL Scouting Director RYAN MCGILL Vegas Golden Knights Assistant Coach who previously coached the Calgary Flames and Team Canada, as well as the Owen Sound Attack (OHL) and Kootenay Ice (WHL) MATT BERTANI 10 years of coaching experience with the New York Islanders and currently coaching the South Korean Men's National Team CELESTE BROWN Former NCAA and NWHL player, currently coaching at Penn State JAMES MELLO Dartmouth Hall of Fame goaltender, RI Hockey Academy Director and Head Coach of the 

Worcester Jr. Railers (EHL) 

JOE BATTISTA Author and former VP of the Buffalo Sabres, served as Assistant Athletic Director and Coach at 

Penn State 

ON-ICE SESSION Technical skating and goaltending (all participants should bring skates, stick, helmet, and gloves)

All Idaho programs are highly encouraged to have ALL registrars for the 2019-2020 season attend this meeting. President's of programs and anyone who might benefit are also welcome to attend.  

 

There are "BIG" changes this season regarding SafeSport requirements that ALL Affiliates and programs will be required to follow.  In addition too SafeSport, we will review background screenings, tournament sanctions, Tier I/II roster guidelines, national tournament information and updates from USA Hockey Annual Congress.  If your have any additional items you would like to discuss, please reply to this email so I can add your request to the agenda.
